The Peter Hostage Situation
The Peter Hostage Situation

The Hostage Situation is a hard-drivin' Swing machine featuring nine of the Boston area's finest musicians. Singer/Pianist Peter Hostage leads this top-tier pro ensemble through the Swing classics of Basie, Ellington, Miller and Sinatra, plus a whole lot of jump blues from the likes of Louis Jordan, Joe Turner, Louis Prima and Ray Charles. The Hostage Situation also features original arrangements of standards from The Great American Songbook, such as "Fly Me To The Moon," "The Way You Look Tonight," "The Glory Of Love" and many more. Though they have been described by people in the Boston swing dance community as "authentic swing" and "absolute swing," The Hostage Situation plays more than just swing, mixing in Latin flavors from Tito Puente, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Santana!

The Hostage Situation has recorded two CDs.
JUST RELEASED, Spring 2004: The Hostage Situation's first full-length CD "Swingin' The Blues," featuring a mixture of originals and standards! Click Here for audio samples from "Swingin' The Blues," or to purchase the CD.
