Bandleader, vocalist, pianist, guitarist, songwriter and arranger has been
performing throughout New England at nightclubs, concerts, functions,
weddings, and house parties for nearly 30 years. His love and respect for
the tradition of Jazz and R&B permeates all of the musical styles he has
mastered over the years. He has many influences in Jazz, R&B and Rock;
including Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Bill Evans, George Benson, The
Beatles, soul of Motown, Memphis and New Orleans, Ray Charles, Steely Dan
and B.B. King and many others. Through the years he has opened concerts for
name acts including Dave Mason, Taj Mahal, and Gary Burton. He wrote and
produced an LP of original R&B flavored rock in the mid-eighties titled
"Motion," and a CD of original Jazz with his trio titled "Do That!" in 1999.
He will be releasing a new CD of originals and standards featuring the
Hostage Situation, his nine piece swing orchestra, in the spring of 2004,
titled "Swingin' The Blues."
When Mr. Hostage is not performing or writing music, he is teaching guitar
and piano to his more than fifty students enrolled in lessons at Music's
Cool, his teaching studio in Londonderry, New Hampshire.
